Privacy policy

This policy describes how SEO S.R.L. handles personal data collected through pugliabiketour.com, under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003 as amended.

We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer, as we are not required to.

If you send an enquiry, we receive what you typed: your name, your email address, your planned start date, and — where you filled them in — the number of riding days, your starting point, the number of riders, the bike you have in mind, the IP address the message was sent from, and anything you wrote in the free text field. A hidden field records that the enquiry came from pugliabiketour.com rather than one of our other sites.

Purpose: to answer you and, if you go ahead, to arrange the hire.
Legal basis: steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Retention: enquiries that don’t become bookings are deleted within 24 months. Where a hire goes ahead, the associated records are kept for the period Italian tax and accounting law requires, currently 10 years.

We do not use your address for marketing. There is no newsletter on this site and no box to tick, because there is nothing to subscribe to.

If you contact us directly, we hold that correspondence on the same basis and for the same periods as above. WhatsApp messages sit on infrastructure operated by Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd under their own terms, which we do not control; if that matters to you, email or telephone instead.

Our hosting provider records standard web server logs — IP address, time of request, page requested, browser user-agent — as an automatic part of serving a page. These are used for security and to diagnose faults, on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the site running (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), and are retained for a short period by the provider.

• No cookies. This site sets none, which is why you have not been shown a consent banner.
• No analytics. No Google Analytics, no Tag Manager, no pixels, no heat-mapping, no session recording.
• No third-party scripts. The fonts are served from our own server rather than from Google Fonts, so loading a page here does not send your IP address to anyone else.
• No browser storage. Nothing is written to local storage, session storage or IndexedDB.
• No profiling and no automated decision-making.
• No advertising and no data sold or shared with advertisers, brokers or anyone else.

Only parties who need it to make the service work: our hosting provider, which stores the site and processes the enquiry form, and our accountant, for records of hires that actually happen. Both act as data processors under contract.

The enquiry form does not use a third-party service. What you type is posted to a script on this same site, which turns it into an email and sends it to our address. There is no form provider, no analytics, no tracker and no cookie anywhere on this site — which is also why you have not been asked to accept anything. The one transfer outside the European Economic Area we cannot avoid is that our enquiry mailbox is a Google account, so the message you send us is stored there once it arrives.

You may ask us to confirm what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict how it is used, or provide it in a portable format. You may object to processing based on legitimate interest. Write to salentobikerental@gmail.com — a plain email is enough, there is no form — and we will respond within one month.

Deletion is straightforward here: if you enquired and decided against it, say so and the enquiry goes. Where tax law obliges us to keep records of a completed hire, we will tell you which parts we cannot delete and why.

If you think we have handled your data badly you can complain to the Italian supervisory authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it), or to the authority in your own country of residence.
