Prices — and what’s not included
The rate is per bike, per day, and it drops as the hire gets longer. Nothing here is behind an enquiry form, because a price you have to ask for is a price you can’t compare.
Every operator ranking for “puglia bike tour” sells a package: bike, hotels, meals, luggage transfer, often a guide and a support van. Those packages start somewhere around two and a half thousand euros a head and most of them don’t publish a number at all. We sell one line item out of that list — the bike, the route and the logistics of moving it between towns — so the price is small enough to print.

The rate structure is worth reading before you choose your dates. The step from three days to four saves you €5 a day on every day, and the step from seven to eight saves another €5. A seven-day hire costs €280; an eight-day hire costs the same €280. If your plan is close to one of those lines, crossing it is free.

The second battery is the one supplement worth thinking about rather than skipping. The first battery on the Trek electric is built into the frame and cannot be taken off the bike, so it charges only where the bike is — which on a linear route means it charges wherever you sleep, if there is a socket you can reach. The second battery is removable and goes up to the room with you. On a one-night-per-town route that difference decides whether you start each morning full.

Delivery and collection
Free at our three points: Lecce (Pop Cafè, Via Guglielmo Paladini 42, near the station), San Foca (Via D’Annunzio 13) and Calimera (Via Roma 163). All three are in Salento, at the southern end of the route.
Everywhere else in Puglia, we deliver. Not a shortlist of towns — anywhere in the region, which is what a route running from the trulli down to Salento actually needs.
The cost depends on three things: how far it is, how many bikes, and how long you are hiring for. Longer hires and larger groups spread the same journey across more, so the delivery is a smaller part of what you pay. As a range, €20 to €250 each way covers the whole of Puglia, both ends included — €250 is the Gargano.
That figure is per leg, not per hire. Bringing the bikes out to you is one leg; collecting them is another. If your route starts and ends away from Lecce, San Foca or Calimera, you are paying both. Starting from one of the three free points and riding north means only the collection is chargeable — one leg instead of two, which is usually the cheapest way to do a one-way route.
We work out your numbers once we have the exact address, and we tell you before you commit to anything. We are not going to pretend a postcode-level quote can be generated from a table — delivering two bikes to a masseria outside Ostuni for a week is not the same job as delivering six to a hotel in Bari for two days.
Arriving by train? We can leave the bikes near the station — at either end, for the handover or the collection. Combined with the fact that bicycles travel free on Puglian regional trains, that is often the cheapest and least complicated way to start a route like this without a car. How it works.
And when it isn’t worth it, we say so. On a one-day hire, delivering to the far end of the region costs more than the bikes do. We would rather point you at a train to Lecce and a free handover than take that booking. From four or five days upward the arithmetic changes and it usually makes sense. This ought to be obvious and is almost never said out loud in this business.

We don’t sell the right-hand column and we don’t take a commission on it. Booking your own hotels along this route is not hard — the towns are small, and in the shoulder months there is availability — and doing it yourself is most of the reason this costs a few hundred euros instead of a few thousand. Payment, and why there is no deposit
There is no online payment on this site, no booking calendar and no live availability. You send the dates, we confirm the bike and the total in writing, and payment is settled at handover. There is no security deposit: we do not hold a sum against damage and we do not block anything on a card. A copy of an identity document is enough, and on longer hires we sometimes ask for a small bank transfer instead. If the bike you asked for isn’t free on your dates, we say so instead of taking the booking and sorting it out later.
